Downhill skiing and snowboarding at nearby Squaw Mountain Ski Resort is located just 6 miles down the road, with all rentals readily available in the area. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and rabbit hunting are all at your doorstep! Snowmobiling is a favorite of many, with the ITS trails right at the end of our driveway connecting to hundreds of miles of trails including the famous “Moosehead Trail”. Our protected cove makes ice early so come see us January 1 to kick off opening day. We have packages for hunting season to include accommodations, meals, and guide services-and everything in between!Ĭome ice fish over 1,000 feet of lake frontage. Maine Guides are available for hunting, drift boat fishing, and lake fishing. October also marks the beginning of several hunting seasons in Maine including: partridge (grouse), rabbit, and moose, with trophy deer hunting starting in November. Fishing on Moosehead Lake stays open through the end of September, while the Kennebec River is open to Fly-fishing year round with October 1-April 30 being catch and release only. The colors generally start turning mid to late September and peak sometime the first week of October.
